JACK

Olympic

Continued study of Irish Olympic excellence, JACK pays homage to the work of one of Ireland’s most renowned artists, Jack B. Yeats.

At a time when Art was an Olympic sport, Yeats was awarded a silver medal for his Liffey Swim, an oil-on-canvas capturing the thrilling atmosphere of an event that has been part of Dublin’s sporting calendar since 1920.

Still running today, it depicts a quayside scene of spectators cheering on swimmers as they approach Dublin’s O’Connell Bridge.
